The Grief Recovery Method
What is grief?
Grief is a deeply personal journey, shaped by the unique nature of our losses. One of my favorite quotes about grief comes from the Marvel show WandaVision. In it, the character Wanda is grappling with profound loss, ultimately realizing that she must face her pain to truly grieve and begin healing.
Grief isn’t limited to the loss of a loved one through death or divorce. It can stem from many kinds of loss: the passing of a pet, the end of a cherished dream or hope, or even mourning something that never came to be. These experiences can create immense emotional barriers to healing.
Well-meaning friends and family often offer words of comfort that can feel unhelpful in the depths of grief. Phrases like, “You can always get another dog,” or, “They lived a long life,” might be factually true but rarely provide solace when we’re overwhelmed by loss.
Through compassionate support, whether in individual sessions or group settings, I’ve learned to navigate my own grief while helping others process theirs.
Grief Recovery Individual: Consists of seven sessions focused on reading materials and completing exercises.
Grief Recovery Group: Consists of eight sessions focused on reading materials and completing and sharing exercises in a group setting.

Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of strength; it is the price of love and the path to healing. No matter the loss—big or small, seen or unseen—your feelings are valid, and you don’t have to face them alone.
